After a long hiatus, the works of Julius Voegtli have rightly found an international audience. The following videos show the international museum exhibitions presenting Voegtli’s works in the late twentieth and early twenty-first century. This new series of exhibitions began with the Dounan Art Museum in Kunming, China.
A further exhibition followed in Europe at the Mark Rothko Museum in Latvia. In 2020, a major exhibition was held in the world’s largest metropolis, Chongqing, and in 2022, a collection will be exhibited at the Archive Art Museum in Beijing.

The Hainan Tanka Museum presented Voegtli’s masterpieces in its inaugural exhibition, opening its doors to this outstanding talent for the first time. It offered not only an exhibition, but also a personal encounter with a quiet, profound change in impressionism. Visitors were invited to experience the fascinating play of light and shadow and go on a painterly journey to Swiss locations, all under the guidance of the brushstrokes of a once forgotten maestro.
The Pashmin Art Consortia, which organized this event, emphasized the tireless spirit of artists like Voegtli and reminded us of the countless hidden treasures of art history.

In 2022, Pashmin Art Publishers published a comprehensive book (540 pages) about Julius Voegtli’s life’s work in three separate volumes in three languages, German, English and Chinese.
His works, including book presentations and a signing session with his grandson, were presented in a large solo exhibition at the Pashmin Art Gallery in Bad Tölz on November 12, 2022, taking us back to a time before the First World War, almost to the end of the Second World War.

The works of Julius Voegtli (1879 – 1944), a pioneer of Swiss impressionism, were presented in a separate section within the large group exhibition, beginning with works created before World War and up to almost the end of World War II. He started with realism and ended with impressionism. Still lifes, portraits, landscapes, soldiers, animals were all part of his oeuvre. In addition, the works of other contemporary artists were presented with Voegtli’s in this exhibition. The Chongqing International Modern and Contemporary Art Exhibition opened at 2 pm on January 10, 2020. It was the most significant art event in the world’s largest metropolis (Chongqing). The exhibition was organized by PASHMIN ART CONSORTIA and the Hong Art Museum in Chongqing. The works were presented at the venue until the end of May 2020.

The report by CCTV Chongqing reached more than 12 million people. Julius Voegtli’s works were viewed by about 200,000 visitors during this period. In the process, Voegtli’s works were reviewed by many experts, curators, and museum directors. Numerous consulates and regional government representatives were also present on the day of the opening.

Mark Rothko Museum and Art Center and Pashmin Art Consortia exhibited the works of Julius Voegtli (1879-1944) in cooperation with each other from November 16, 2018, to January 13, 2019. The exhibition was titled ‘Julius Voegtli: A Pioneer of Swiss Impressionism’. Hans Vögtli, the artist’s grandson, was also present at the opening.

At this group exhibition, a special section was dedicated to Julius Voegtli (1879 – 1944), one of the precursors of Impressionism in Switzerland. Hans Vögtli, the artist’s grandson, also attended the opening. From December 16, 2017, to January 25, 2018, the international contemporary art exhibition was held at the Dounan Art Museum in Kunming, China. The exhibition’s theme was ‘Recognizing new artistic voices in Kunming’. The collection showed individual artists from the West with their unique personal approaches. It presented them in a multicultural, colorful art scene in the East. The primary purpose of Dounan Art Museum and Pashmin Art Consortia was to bridge the cultural and artistic gap between different cultures and countries by presenting a wide range of artists.
